The Dawgs took both games of a doubleheader in Lethbridge on Tuesday against Prairie Baseball Academy Junior Varsity. Game one was won by a final score of 3-0 behind a combined shutout with Wyle Cunningham starting and going two innings and Shawn Andersen who threw the final five innings putting up all zeroes. Offensively, the Dawgs were led by a Ramon Valdez RBI single an good base running to manufacture runs as the Dawgs stole 7 bases in the game.
Game two was a similar story with a 6-3 win. Cole Slamko and Kurtis Taylor both went three strong innings and the Dawgs were down 3-2 going into the 7th inning. The Dawgs got good baserunning and clutch hitting as Nolan Benesh led off with a walk and stole 2nd and 3rd before Brendan Rose drive him in with a double. Brayden Munro came on to pinch run for Rose and also stole 3rd to be driven in by a Chris Shaw double. Chris Shaw then stole 3rd and a few miscues by PBA defense led to 2 more runs and Eric Kahl came on to earn the save and secure a 6-3.
Dawgs will play Saturday and Sunday against PBA JV again.
