Dawgs 18U Black 1-0 - Kelowna Invitational

Dawgs 18U Black defeated the Okanagan A's 1-0 on Thursday, as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.

The Dawgs didn't take the lead until later in the game when Cesar Valero grounded out on a diving play down the 3rd base line, scoring one run.

Graham Brunner earned the win for the Dawgs -6 innings, 0 runs, 2 hits, 4 ks, and 1 walk. Ben Tighe retired the side in order for the save - recording 2 strikeouts in the process.

Offensively, the Dawgs were led by Tristan Peters, Danny Donnelly and Cesar Valero - who each collected one hit, with Valero driving in the only run.

The Dawgs take on the Nanaimo Pirates in game two of the tournament at 6 pm PST this evening. GO DAWGS!
