Dawgs 3-0 in Pool Play; Advance to Kelowna invitational Semi-finals

Game 2 vs Nanaimo Pirates

Dawgs 18U Black blew out Nanaimo Pirates 8-2 on Friday.

The Dawgs took an early lead in the first inning on a sac fly by Tristan Peters. After the Nanaimo Pirates scored one run in the top of the second inning, the Dawgs took the lead for good with two runs in the third inning. Led by Tristan Peters’ RBI triple and Tyler McWillie’s RBI single.

Ryan Morgan earned the win- pitching 5 complete innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits, striking out 2 and walking 1

Game 3 vs North Delta Blue Jays

In the final pool play game of the tournament, the Dawgs took the lead early when Cesar Valero hit a 2-run double to give the Dawgs a 2-0 lead, eventually winning by a final score of 4-1.

Shaun Atamanchuk earned the win - pitching 5 complete innings allowing 1 unearned run on 1 hit and 1 strikeout.

Tanner Bercier recorded the last six outs to earn the save

 

The Dawgs 18U Black will square off against the Dawgs 18U Red in the semi-finals tomorrow morning at 10:30 am PST
